It seems like Google [GOOG] is making some modifications to its free email service, Gmail that is used by millions of users around the globe. The main thing the company is working on is trying to speed up the service.

At the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, the Behind the Scenes of Gmail panel, asked the audience to raise their hands if they thought Gmail was slow, it appears that the service is not slow for everyone but only to certain people.

A teaser from this year’s CES in Las Vegas reveals that Dell will soon be having their own range of tablets. The Dell Mini 5 tablet appears to be edging closer to its release.

The Dell Mini 5 sports a five inch 800 x 480 pixel multi-touch screen, runs Android 2.0, packs the mandatory Wi-Fi and 3G, and is decked out with a 5 megapixel camera plus an additional front-facing VGA webcam.

Dell document is showing a typically swish collection of colors and finishes plus a partnership with Amazon to deliver a Kindle e-book reader onto the slate, which apparently goes by the codename of ‘Streak’.

It has been quite some time since Apple [AAPL] has updated its Mac Pro computer range, the latest rumor doing the rounds is that Apple are set to release a new version of the Mac pro and the update could come as early as next Tuesday the 16th  of March.

According to reports from ZDNet, the next generation Mac Pro will feature Intel’s new Core i7-980x Extreme six core processor, with a clock speed of 3.33GHZ and a TurboBoost to 3.6GHz.

Asus has further expanded their collection with a new Eee netbook which they call the 1005PR. The Asus Eee 1005PR sticks to the familiar Asus 10.1-inch netbook form with a screen resolution of 1366 x 768. The netbook will be offered in black, white, pink and blue colors.

The processor of Asus Eee 1005PR netbook is the Atom N450 and it can be fitted with up to 2GB of RAM. The 802.11b/g/n WiFi is built-in along with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR connectivity. Asus points out that some versions of the 1005PR might not have Bluetooth and the same WiFi radio depending on the country where it is released.

Intel released its newest processor, the Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition, which promises to be the new king of the CPU hill. The Core i7-980X Extreme Edition (codenamed “Gulftown”) is Intel’s first six-core processor for consumers, more particularly for the gamers and well-heeled multimedia professionals.

Pioneer has released their latest notebook dubbed as DreamBook Lite that has 10-hour battery life.
