Lenovo has unveiled its newest PC machine, an ultraportable laptop with a tablet and Intel Core i7 or i5 processors. The unit has a convertible Tablet PC design and a 12.1-inch screen.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet X201 will come with the option of Windows 7 or Windows XP operating system and up to 500GB of storage. Consumers can also pick for an SSD storage version, with up to 128GB available. The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet X201 has built-in Wi-Fi, WiMax and Bluetooth. In December 2009, there has been a rumor that Acer had ordered the new NVIDIA Ion 2 chips for some of its computers. Acer has now unveiled its first netbook to actually sport the Ion 2 graphics chip and the netbook is called the Aspire One 532G. The Ion 2 chip will allow the netbook to hold up 1080p video out making for a very nice HTPC machine when the mood hits.

Microsoft & Amazon Signed the Patent Deal

Earlier this week, Microsoft and Amazon have entered into a patent cross-licensing deal having Amazon paying Microsoft an undisclosed amount of money, and neither side has disclosed what sorts of money is involved.

The Patent deal covers Amazons Kindle device and the company’s use of Linux based servers that Microsoft has persistently said that many installations of Linux infringe on its patents and this is just another deal in a long line of licensing deals that cover Linux.

Microsoft deputy general counsel, Horacio Gutierrez, stated that Microsoft is pleased to have entered into this patent license agreement with Amazon.com.
