This has one of those designs that you would be comfortable carrying around in public. The Gateway T-6828 might have an old concept in terms of design but those who like their laptops in red paint will surely have a grand time carrying this all over town.

The Gateway T-6828 weighs 5.7 pound which is quite heavy for a 14-inch laptop. The 14-inch screen is very nice although it only has 1,280-by-800 resolution. The mouse buttons make a bit of a noise that’s noticeable in a quiet setting but the keyboard is very comfortable to type on. Above the keyboard lies a river of multimedia buttons.

These days, when all laptop manufacturers are thinking of design and some other features to throw in, Gateway has remained steadfast in providing consumers with just enough to get by.  For example, they did not include HDMI port to cut cost. It also lacks FireWire port and an S-Video out. The three USB ports and dual-layer DVD burner are not better than the average laptop.

At $800 the Gateway T-6828 comes with a two-year warranty which is perhaps the only thing that makes it remarkable, aside of course from the red paint job.
